The algorithm has been working hard to keep the Irish skate community in view, and I love it!
Before i carry on, we need to clarify I -personally- am Referring to the whole of Ireland, both Northern and Republic, but they are politically two different Irelands and I don’t want to confuse anyone. The Inspo
If you didn’t know, I was inspired to create this website for the exact reason of wanting to know more about the skate communities outside of London, and considering that flights to Dublin can be less than £50, it was on my list as a weekend trip that i’ll bring my skates on.
Where to skate in Ireland
Honestly, I was just hoping to find one rink, but they have 3!!

To keep rinks alive means there just has to be regular skaters, So, I could already picture finding about 100 skaters if I scroll long enough.
Tip: if you find a roller rink, you’re bound to find groups of regular skaters
- so I dove deeper.

On my scroll down the #Ireland #Rollerskater timeline, I very quickly came across @mari.groove, a roller dance instructor!

I found the treasure chest I was looking for and it opened up to reveal a thriving skate community in Dublin!

I don’t even have much to say cause the name and the bio say everything!
The short story is, I found people! and way more than I’d imagined I would.
The Skate shop?
The key ingredient to keep a skate community happy (aside from a rink) is a local specialty store!
-Which they don’t yet have… But, there are skate board shops that stock roller skates and everything you could need.
But I think we can all agree it would be nice to have a roller skate shop run by roller skaters who can help people take their first strides into the sport.
Still, No complaints from me!
In fact, the way the communities in Ireland are booming, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a shop or are in the process of establishing one, and I’m just not yet aware…
